On days 28-29th October of 2016 in Cracow, at Auditorium Maximum of Jagiellonian University, the 12 Central European Implant Academy was held. The two-day session of lectures concerns topics from regeneration, aesthetics, treatment modalities with implants, new digital concepts, and economy of dental clinic business.

First day started with a lecture of Dr. Piotr Majewski, in which he presented ridge reconstruction and bone regeneration procedures. He emphasised that the clinical efficacy of a performing surgery, especially in aesthetic zone, depends on selected material and also selected technique. Probleming of minimally invasive procedures with shortened treatment time was taken up by Dr. Francesco Amato in two charismatic and dynamic lectured presentations. He presented a few complex cases solved by the means of super-short implants and focus on biological conditions of a patient with  high predictability maintaining success rates. Those simple procedures ensured not only high aesthetic results in the anterior zone but also enabled reducing number of surgeries, treatment time and costs. The first day ended with a lecture of Dr. Marzena Dominiak, that demonstrated soft and hard tissue management around teeth and implants on the basis of the results of international, multicentre and randomised controlled trials.

The day two was initiated by Wojciech Baranowicz, an economists and finance director of a large dental clinic, who was reporting how develop or optimise operations of the dental business. Then Dr. Jan-Frederik Güth presented new digital solutions for dentistry by using the Zfx intrascan and the upcoming Zfx Converter. After a short break, lectures regarding preparation of implant site alongside with the rehabilitation planning in edentulous jaw, were lead by Dr. Stavros Pelekanos. On the basis of demanding clinical cases lecturer give reasons for importance of appropriate diagnosis of dental and gingival analysis in a capacity of aesthetic results prognosis in full mouth restorations. He stressed that the long-term clinical efficacy can be achieved merely by well established implants systems on the market.

A very great asset of events organised by Dental Depot Wasio under supervision of Dr. Piotr Majewski is the scientific merit of presented lectures. Sessions give a real opportunity for developing knowledge, getting know new trends, problems, and upcoming challenges in implant-based dentistry.
